On Tuesday, Taxpayers for Common Sense sent a letter to all members of the Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources in advance of their hearing next week to evaluate the nomination of Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT) for Secretary of the Interior. The Department of the Interior, through various subagencies, manages the vast majority of the federal government's natural resources – resources that belong to all U.S. taxpayers. The letter uged Committee members to ensure that any new Secretary of the Interior prioritizes the taxpayer interest in the management of public lands and public resources.
