On Tuesday, Taxpayers for Common Sense and the National Taxpayers Union sent a joint letter to the House of Representatives urging members to vote down H.R. 5303 – the chamber’s version of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2016. The two organizations noted that while the bill is better than its Senate counterpart, it fails to make necessary reforms to improve the prioritization of projects tasked to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and would spend billions of dollars irresponsbily.
