TCS has completed our analysis and database of the Senate CJS appropriations bill.

Even in the minority, Sen. Shelby (R-AL) knows how to bring home the bacon. As ranking member of the subcommittee, he pulled in $126 million or more than 25% of the disclosed earmarks back to sweet home Alabama, including $250,000 for the West Alabama Marine Shrimp and Fish Aquacultures. His neighbor and Ranking Member on the full committee, Sen. Cochran (R-MS) bagged $61 million including $11 million for the Center for Marine Aquaculture. Sen. Mikulski, Chair of the Subcommittee rounded out the leadership haul with $47 million for Maryland including $1.5 million for the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation and $300,000 for the Baltimore School of the Arts.

Don't worry, there was still more to go around. All told TCS found 614 earmarks worth $587 million. The Senate disclosed 608 earmarks worth $486 million.
