Should Duke Cunningham be Pardoned?

Former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham (R-CA), currently in the middle of an 8-year prison sentence for taking $2.4 million in bribes from two defense contractors seeking defense earmarks and contracts, is seeking a Presidential pardon from his prison sentence, according to the New York Times.The

Let us get this straight. Cunningham sold his house to a Defense contractor for $700,000 more than the asking price and then lived in the same man's yacht free of charge. In exchange, Cunningham sent tens of millions of defense earmarks and contracts. And now he thinks he should be able to turn in his prison stripes?

Taxpayers should let the White House know how horrible an idea this is. The pardon police should also watch this CBS segment that makes a compelling case that these bribes cost American troops their lives in Iraq.
