TCS mourns the loss of one of our founding board members, Rob Stuart, 49, who died suddenly on October 26th.

Rob was literally present at the creation of Taxpayers for Common Sense (TCS) – from helping co-founders Rafael DeGennaro and Jill Lancelot negotiate details of the new organization, to videotaping the release of the first TCS report, “Budget of the Living Dead,” to recruiting board members, Rob worked to make Taxpayers a success from the start.

Rob served on the TCS board for 16 years of the organization’s history, including 5 years as chair, and was currently also chair of our affiliate, TCS Action. Rob played a critical role in helping TCS grow from an idea into the organization we are today.

Rob has and will be remembered for his creativity and persistence in promoting the use of technology in non-profits, for his commitment to improving Philadelphia, the city where he lived with his wife and two teenage daughters, and his endless energy. Rob was more than just a leader; he was a friend and colleague, and his sense of humor and wry observations will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Here's a link to his obituary in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
