Some Republican lawmakers are criticizing President Obama for suggesting the government consider selling the Tennessee Valley Authority. TVA, the largest publicly-owned utility in the U.S., serves nine million customers in seven states including Virginia.
In his 2014 budget blueprint, Obama says selling TVA will cut the federal deficit by $25 billion.
