Taxpayer Group Pushes to End Loopholes for Oil Companies

Grand Junction - A group of Coloradans dedicated to cutting wasteful government spending makes their voices heard in downtown Grand Junction. Taxpayers for Common Sense called on Representative Tipton to support current efforts in Congress to end subsidies to big oil companies.

According to a new report released by the group, tax loopholes continuously add to the national debt, while increasing massive oil company profits.

"We are a fiscal conservative organization. We want to cut subsidies, we want to cut tax breaks and we want to cut corporate welfare. We want to see a government that spends their money responsibly and stay within its means," said Jill Lancelot, the cofounder of Taxpayers for Common Sense.

The new report, released by Taxpayers for Common Sense, is called "Subsidy Gusher."
