Fellowships
Taxpayers for Common Sense offers fellowship opportunities in Programmatic Work, Development/Nonprofit Administration, and Communications and Digital Media. To be considered for a fellowship, candidates must be recent college graduates.
Responsibilities:
Programmatic Work:
- Monitoring hearings, legislation, oversight reports, and other government action on relevant issues.
- Conducting research for fact sheets, white papers, reports, and other educational products.
- Aiding in collecting data and building out internal tracking spreadsheets across program areas.
- Working closely with program staff to draft, edit, and publish regular content for the TCS website and social media.
Development / Nonprofit Administration:
- Organizing and maintaining donor records.
- Editing and proofing proposals and program reports for funders.
- Researching prospective individual and foundation funders.
- Assisting with regular donor outreach and communication efforts.
Communications and Digital Media:
- Coordinate and manage tracking of organization communications including press and digital output
- Running TCS social media presence on Facebook and Twitter
- Manage organization’s digital marketing (Google AdWords, Facebook campaigns, Twitter ads, Google display ads)
- Identify, analyze, and work with the communications team to fix digital weaknesses with regards to SEO, social media engagement

Qualifications and Compensation:
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, as well as extreme attention to detail and an ability to be effective and organized in a fast-paced working environment. Previous experience in an office environment strongly preferred. Candidates from all academic disciplines will be considered as long as they have an interest in our work. TCS considers strong candidates independently for limited, competitively-paid positions.
