On Tuesday, Taxpayers for Common Sense sent the following letter to the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives: Paul Ryan (R-WI) opposing efforts to gut the independent Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE):

After an outcry from citizens, outside groups and the President-elect, House Republicans gathered quickly and stripped the provision to gut the Office of Congressional Ethics from the House Rules package shortly before consideration.
