Carolina Bank logoCarolina Bank Holdings, Inc. was established for the purpose of serving as the bank holding company of Carolina Bank (the Bank), which is chartered in North Carolina. Carolina Bank provides commercial and consumer banking services to individuals and small to medium-sized businesses in Guilford, Alamance, and Randolph Counties, North Carolina. It was founded in 1996, is based in Greensboro, North Carolina, and has six retail locations.

In December 2008 Carolina Bank received preliminary approval for an investment of $16 million from the Treasury Department under its Capital Purchase Program. The bank began participating on the program in early January 2009. Carolina Bank is participating in FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program, which guarantees all of a bank’s non-interest bearing transaction accounts through December 31, 2009.
