M&T Bank Corporation is a bank holding company for M&T Bank, which operates 704 branch offices in New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. The company is headquartered in Buffalo, New York. M&T Bank Corporation is one of the largest bank holding companies in the United States. Since 2003, M&T Bank has been the sponsor of the stadium in which the Baltimore Ravens football team plays. The right to call the stadium M&T Bank Stadium costs M&T Bank Corporation $5 million per year through 2018; the total cost of the 15-year deal is $75 million.

Through the Treasury’s Capital Purchase Program, M&T Bank Corporation received $600 million, in exchange for 600,000 shares of Preferred Stock and a ten-year warrant to purchase up to 1,218,522 shares of the company’s common stock.
