The public comment period for the Department of Interior's proposed rule to reduce venting and flaring of natural gas on federal lands was extended this week from its original April 8th deadline to April 22nd. American taxpayers have already waited two years for this rule to be finalized, and have meanwhile lost hundreds of millions of dollars in lost royalties due to this wasted gas – $49 million in 2013 alone.
