(Eagle Bancorp) is a bank holding company that provides general commercial and consumer banking services through its wholly owned banking subsidiary, EagleBank (the Bank). The Bank is an independent, community oriented, and full-service alternative to the super regional financial institutions. As of March 31, 2008, it operated 6 offices in Montgomery County and 3 offices in the District of Columbia. The company was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland.

In December the company announced that it would participate in the Treasury Department’s Capital Purchase Program. Under the program the company received $38,235,000 in exchange for preferred stock. Eagle Bank is the title sponsor of the college football Eagle Bank Bowl, hosted at Washington DC's RFK stadium.
