Complete Database of House and Senate Earmark Requests

After searching all 99 senate websites (remember the Coleman/Franken Minnesota race is still unresolved), we now have a complete database of House and Senate Fiscal Year 2010 earmark requests.  Click here for the database

Much like we found with the House websites, senators took different approaches to the Appropriations Committee’s requirement that earmark requests be posted on the senator’s official website.  A number of senators made links to their requests available on their homepages, including Majority Leader Reid (D-NV) and Minority Leader McConnell (R-KY), while others took a little more digging into “Press Shops”, Issues & Legislation, Constituent Services, or some other category.  How the senator’s formatted their disclosures also varied greatly with requests presented in pdf, html, integrated databases, lists, and actual letters.

We encourage you to download the database yourself and see how your senators (and representative) are disclosing their earmark requests.  And let us know what you think.
