The Conference Agreement on the Budget Resolution that is expected to pass the House and Senate today does not include language supporting a $50 billion increase for the Department of Energy Loan Guarantee Program. The $50 billion expansion was included in the original Senate bill but removed in conference negotiations with the House. In addition to the loan guarantee amendment, the budget resolution conference also removed another provision offered by Senator Crapo to increase spending on nuclear reprocessing, an expensive and failed technology.
