Taxpayers for Common Sense, together with a diverse coalition of 58 groups, sent a letter to congressional leaders today urging them to allow the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit to sunset this year.  At a time of spiraling deficits, the coalition strongly believes that Congress should stop subsidizing gasoline refiners who blend corn ethanol into gasoline, costing taxpayers $6 billion a year!

The coalition includes business associations, hunger and development organizations, taxpayer advocates, agricultural groups, religious organizations, environmental groups, budget hawks, and public interest organizations.
