Steve Ellis, president of the advocacy group Taxpayers for Common Sense, says the EPA’s biofuel policies distort markets, raise food prices, and hurt the environment by subsidizing harmful industrial farming practices. “By continuing to pick winners and losers through mandated markets, federal policy drives demand for biofuels while increasing reliance on costly tax subsidies,” Ellis says in a statement.
