Marines Advertising on Hummers

Anyone who has a TV knows the military spends tons of money for recruiting prospective troops into the services. Recently, while watching baseball on ESPN, Taxpayers for Common Sense staff saw an advertisement behind home plate for U.S. Border Patrol recruitment. While we aren’t questioning the role of military services or government agencies to spend taxpayer money to recruit, in some cases we question whether the advertising is reasonable.

Recently, a TCS staffer caught a glimpse of a Hummer covered in Marine ads. From first glance, it seems like a very expensive way to recruit. And we aren’t even counting the fuel costs.
