TCS Cited in Bipartisan Congressional Letter on Defense Savings

A group of eleven Democratic and eleven Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives sent a letter to President Obama and Congressional leaders today urging that "substantial defense savings" be included as part of any deficit reduction budget agreement. The letter notes that "respected policy organizations across the political spectrum," including Taxpayers for Common Sense, "have recently issued proposals that would responsibly achieve defense savings over the next decade."

The letter refers to "Spending Even Less, Spending Even Smarter," the report we recently issued with the Project on Government Oversight detailing how to save more than $600 billion in defense spending over the next decade without compromising our national security.
