Saturday night the Senate voted 56-40 to pass the CROmnibus. As we have documented (and will continue to document) this bill has many flaws, but it is time to turn the page on the 113th Congress. Congress still has items on their imposed to do list – tax extenders which we think are unnecessary and would be better addressed through comprehensive tax reform and terrorism reinsurance (we hope they will reform more than they have).

Going forward we are hopeful – and will work toward – a 114thCongress that engages voters and taxpayers, expands access to information, reauthorizes important transportation and water resources legislation, enact comprehensive tax reform, and breaks a 20-year streak (1995-2014) by passing spending bills done individually, with time for debate, and before the next fiscal year begins.
