Today, the Green Scissors Coalition sent a letter to Senators, urging them to oppose the year-round expansion of E15 in the Farm Bill. Although year-round E15 was removed from the House version of the Farm Bill and passed as a stand-alone bill, it has been added back to the most recent Senate version of the Farm Bill.  The coalition highlights that taxpayers already spend billions subsidizing the U.S. ethanol industry while also mandating a market through the Renewable Fuel Standard, and that this expansion would add billions more in taxpayer costs and even more in consumer costs.
